Producing original photography to use in a company's communication is a key part in standing out. The explosion of stock imagery has smiling happy people shining out of every website, brochure, catalogue, etc. The only problem is that quite often from company to company it is the same people.
Finding the models and scouting the location.
There are a number of resources available to find local talent, either through agencies or directly. Our designers worked with Tone-a-Matic to find the right models, get all release forms signed and arrange for make-up on the day.
To keep costs under control Katrina at Tone-a-Matic had manage to get a member of the family (with a particularly nice home) to give us permission to shoot at their home. We scouted out the location, took test shots, recorded light levels and put together a proposal for the shoot.
Thanks to the large north facing windows our photographer suggested employing natural light (which is in vogue at the moment), this allowed us to shoot in a number of locations across the home with minimal setup resulting in a larger variety for the day.
Making the most out of the photoshoot.
Of course once you have the models on site, make-up done and the locations for the shoot all set up producing video alongside the the photographers images is fast becoming a simple add-on.
By working through different location on the same day our photographers and videographers were able to compile many strong images and versatile video footage for use in ongoing marketing for Tone-a-Matic.
