Client KOYA Natural Skincare
One of the most competitive markets is in Skincare. With more and more products hitting the shelves, some more unique than others, finding that unique proposition becomes increasingly challenging.
For KOYA that unique element is both personal and core to their products and production.
Skincare you can eat... If you wanted to.
Made from edible ingredients of the highest quality KOYA is carving out a new segment for those absolutely committed to purity and the natural. Inspired by a personal tragedy the founder of KOYA began to develop and refine the highest quality all natural skincare line on the market.
From award winning bath bombs to scrubs that get your mouth watering the products have been designed to nourish your skin.. and build a healthy appetite!
The name KOYA is derived from people close to Karen (the founder's) heart. So a certain sensitivity had to be brought to the symbol itself.
One cant escape that the name does have a somewhat "Asian" influence to its sound so we decided to play on the look and feel of the Asian writing systems.
The final logo design is a blend of a K and a Y in script staggered and joined to leave a sense of quality and the Japanese commitment to simplicity.
Building out the Identity System
Our team moved from the primary logo design to stationery, web design and photography. Ensuring a consistent colour palette and feel for the KOYA identity is key to re-enforcing the message that this is a quality product.
The main design challenges of the website relate to the number of products currently on offer. In a market where expanding SKUs is a quick affair KOYA has been deliberately limiting their total number of products to ensure that absolute commitment to quality. One has to design around this to leave visitors with the sense they have viewing a complete and competitive line-up.
Photography had to play on the natural, tasty and quality feel that the KOYA brand was developing. Using ingredients as props we shot both standard product shots as well as more commercial images for use in banners and marketing materials.
Our ongoing relationship with KOYA has been a treat, sweet smells inspiring our designers (who all now have the softest skin) and we look forward to trying out any new products Karen develops!
